Nature and its tremor is a mechanism for site-specific intervention, an unhurried stroll/visit to reality that, based on the tools of theatre, the body, thought and cinema, aims to disclose, uncovering another reality, awakening in the spectator possibilities of perception that make her look, decipher and understand in another way, inviting her to enter into its phantasmagoria.
Nature and its tremor is a co-production by Societat Doctor Alonso, Moaré Danza and the GREC festival, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Basque Government and the collaboration of Bulegoa z/b and La Casa Encendida.
La Societat Doctor Alonso, directed by Tomas Aragay (theater director and dramaturg) and Sofia Asencio (dancer and choreographer) has constructed a language which has found one of its key factors in the concept of movement by placing anything outside of its place, area or ‘own space’ in order to investigate how this movement modifies language with respect to both its constituent grammar as well as with respect to the reading made by an observer. This involves moving in order to reveal something. This action of movement has shown itself to be an efficient tool for creating areas of poetic discourse which question our ‘standardised’ understanding of reality.
Moare Danza, created by a group of Basque women choreographers in 1992, is a structure of reference for permanent work in the field of the live arts. It has for years maintained a continuous task of research, dissemination and teaching of Dance, specialising in the area of New Dance. Moare Danza works in collaboration with different professionals from diverse artistic and non-artistic fields to look into the meaning of the body and movement in our society.
Participants: Tomás Aragay, Sofia Asencio, Chus Domínguez e Idoia Zabaleta.
